My personal research for the group archive is about code switching within different cultural backgrounds as a minority in western dominant white society. On here the code switching touches different layers and ways of adjusting. It could be as a protection mechanism, for opening doors for yourself and have a seat at the table or just the sake of belonging. It’s about coping with this as being a minority in this society and it even being or becoming part of your identity. It is for us to collectively come together and look at shared experiences to know about these different layers of identity and to know that multiple BIPOC struggle with this identity shifting and shaping. I shared my personal experiences but also looked at a lot of visuals in form of video’s, small documentaries, perspectives by other creatives and representation in the theme of identity
